Yes. All residents are required to use the trash containers the city delivered to your home. Residents who are found to be out of compliance are subject to citation.
Place trash carts, recycling carts and yard waste away from mailboxes, basketball goals and other private home improvements to minimize possible damage caused by solid waste vehicles. Carts and yard waste should also be separated by a minimum of three feet so trucks can "grab" the carts.
Residents can help solid waste collection by:
- Placing the cart at the curb before 8 a.m. on collection day
- Pointing the arrows on the cart toward the street
- Allowing three feet between the cart and other objects
- Fitting all trash in the cart
- Limiting extra bags to less than 50 lbs and items less than 4 feet in length
- Reducing household trash through recycling
- Removing the cart(s) from the curb before 5 p.m. the day after collection
- Storing the cart(s) inside the garage or beside the residence when not on the curb for pick-up
